My interest in translation began...

... very early in life, as I started learning English at the age of 8 and I soon found myself inundated from requests from friends and family members to translate pop song lyrics, user manuals for domestic appliances and foreign magazines (Good Housekeeping, Popcorn, etc). In my days there was no internet, so I armed myself with a good bunch of dictionaries borrowed from my mum that I used to learn and investigate.

After finishing school, I started studying Translation and Interpretation in my hometown of La Plata but due to our family moving to Spain to start a business, I decided to follow suit. Once in Spain my entire working life revolved around my ability to speak good English in a highly British dominated Costa del Sol.

I worked as a hotel entertainer, legal secretary, receptionist and customer service clerk in a property management firm, all of which involved some degree of in-house translation, whether it was entertainment leaflets, emails or, later, contracts and minutes from general meetings. Soon I was earning a second income translating personal documents for clients of the firms I worked for, who were impressed not only with the price and quality, but also turnaround time.

And finally, in 2007, I left my job at Condominium Services to venture into the freelance work and started getting regular work from agencies I met via the Proz website, allowing me to move to the UK to start a new life with my partner.
